Confirmation Of Entry

Please check that your details are on the start list for the event. They will be found on this website when entries have closed and also emailed to riders. Please contact us immediately if you think there has been an error at info@vo2cycling.co.uk.

Directions To Start At The Walled Garden

Upon entering Hildenborough from Sevenoaks turn right at the War Memorial (from Tonbridge turn left) into Noble Tree Road. Travel approx 400m and turn left into the entrance for The Walled Garden. Please do not use the Fosse Bank School entrance as this will be closed for the event. The entrance to The Walled Garden will be sign posted.

Parking

There are a limited number of parking spaces available at the school. Marshals will direct you, but it will be on a first come first served basis.

There is ample parking available at Hildenborough Station, which is a 5min cycle ride from the event. We recommend parking here, kitting-up and riding to the HQ. Other options are local roads; however we would like to keep Noble Tree Road clear if possible for the event.

Terms And Conditions Of Entry

Terms and conditions of entry are clearly stated when you enter. They will also be displayed at the event HQ. By entering this event you have agreed to these terms and conditions.

Please do not swap entries. Event insurance is in place for every rider entered and if you are not the rider who has entered you will not be insured to ride.

Rider Conduct

We insist that you treat members of the public, including other road users, marshals, other riders, event officials and venue staff with respect. Any use of profanity or aggression towards any other parties will not be tolerated. Please try to remain courteous on the road even if some other road users may not offer you the same respect.

We are riding in an area of outstanding beauty - please do not litter the course. There will be bins provided at both aid stations and at the start/finish.

Highway Code

The route is on open roads, so please ensure that you observe the rules of the road at all times. Any infringements such as crossing the white line or failing to take due care is illegal and may result in a prosecution by the police.

Please recognise that marshals are not permitted under law to stop the traffic and will not do so under any circumstances. Marshals are there to give direction only and not instruct. Riders are responsible for making their own decisions as to whether it is safe to proceed or not. If in doubt riders should stop!

You must take the utmost care at junctions and should note in the course details that you do not have right of way at a number of sections, check that the junction is clear before continuing. You must obey the Highway Code, which is the law!

Helmets

No helmet no ride! These are compulsory for all riders for the whole of the ride.

Bikes

Please make sure your bike is in good working order. Check the following: tyres are in good condition and are inflated; both front and rear brakes work. It would also be advisable to carry drinks bottles, spare inner tubes, tyre levers, a pump and a multi tool.

Food

There will be Science in Sport energy drinks, water and bananas. Please don’t rely completely on these stations for your nutrition. It is advised that you carry all the food needed with you and use the station to top-up.

Sign on

Sign on will open at 08:00 until 09:15. This will be at The Walled Garden. No bikes inside the studio please. Once signed on you will get a bike number and timing chip. Please wear the timing chip on the left leg and put the number on the front of your handlebars. There will also be an information pack with a map of the route, on the reverse there is our contact and emergency contact details should you need us. You may even be lucky enough to get your photo taken on route by our photographer!

Start

The start is in front of Fosse Bank School, please be there in plenty of time for the start. As this is not a race we will be starting the event in waves of between 10-20 riders with 1 min between to disperse riders at the start and on the course. Please iine up in the column for the distance you will be riding and wait to be called to the start line.

Route

Please familiarise yourself with the course before you ride.

The route will be fully marked with our unique VO2 signs in black with yellow arrows. In areas we feel that need some caution we will sign. We will also have marshals in places where assistance might be needed.

Finish

Turning in to Fosse Bank School you will need to do a right turn on Noble Tree Road, please take care when entering the main entrance. As soon as you have finished you will go in to a finishing pen where we will collect your timing chip. Please hand these in before leaving the pen.

Results

Results will be published on our website and in our follow up email.

After The Ride

Join us back at The Walled Garden after your ride for food and a free tea or coffee. There will also be the option to get your tired legs massaged.
